A plain website checklist for plumbers

Eight things to check on your plumbing website so people who get your name from a referral can reach you easily.

Context: Jobber's 2026 report says 65% of home service businesses don't show business hours on their website, and 43% don't clearly list service areas. Source: Jobber 2026 Home Service Trends Report.

Open it on your phone

Load your own site on your phone. Is your number visible before you scroll? Tap it. Does it dial?

Make the number tappable

A number inside an image or as plain text can't be tapped. It needs to be a phone link.

A way to ask for a quote

Some people would rather type than call. A short form near the top (name, phone, what's wrong) gives them that option.

After hours

Say what someone can do when you're closed: a form, a callback next morning, or an answering line. Only say what's true.

Your services, towns and hours

List the jobs you actually do, the towns you serve, and your real hours.

Google basics

A page title with your trade and town, and a short description.

If you run Google Local Services Ads

Google uses the hours in your Google Business Profile as your "business hours" for Local Services Ads, so keep them accurate and matching your website. Source: Google Local Services Help.
